We talk about Jesus like He’s somewhere far away, hovering above the chaos, watching, waiting. But what if the Light we’re desperate to find is already within us?
The truth is: you don’t have to chase what you already carry.

When Marnie’s World Went Dark

I got a text from a friend the other day. Her teenage daughter had threatened her again. Years of tears, prayers, and emotional exhaustion. We’ll call her Marnie. She said, “Laura, I’m holding on by faith, but I can’t see the way forward.”
And that’s when I remembered one of my favorite phrases Brian Simmons uses to describe Jesus in John 1: “The Living Expression.” Jesus, the visible expression of God’s invisible heart.
It’s breathtaking when you realize this: “The same Light that burst through the world’s gloom now lives inside you.”
You don’t have to search for light in the distance. You carry it.

 Revelation: The Light That Can’t Be Dimmed 

Hebrews calls Jesus “the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being.” Colossians adds, “He is the image of the invisible God.”                                                                          That means no matter what you face, anxiety, disappointment, or grief, darkness doesn’t get the final word.                                                                  The Living Expression of God in you can’t be diminished. It can only be revealed.                                                                                                                               “You don’t have to chase the Light—                                              you carry it.”

 The Practical Shift: Let the Light Do the Talking

Today, pause.                                                                                                                                                          

Take a breath.

Let His light burst through whatever pain or confusion you’re facing.                                                            Try whispering this aloud: > “I don’t have to perform for light — I am the light because He lives in me.”

When you stop striving to feel close to God and start realizing He’s already in you — that’s when transformation begins.

                                 The Light in You Will Always Outshine the Darkness Around You.
