Let’s break it down:
SAVED BUT NOT FREE You believe in Jesus but still live in bondage. Being saved doesn’t automatically mean being free. DEFEAT INSTEAD OF VICTORY Your prayers feel powerless. Religion teaches behavior modification instead of spiritual transformation. RELAPSE & CYCLES You keep falling into old habits, old sins, and old thinking patterns because no one has shown you how to break the cycle. SPIRITUAL OPPRESSION You feel like something is resisting your progress, but you can’t name it. You’re fighting the wrong battles. LACK OF DIRECTION The system teaches obedience to structure, not alignment with divine purpose. You’re moving but not progressing. LACK OF FULFILLMENT You do all the ‘Christian things’ but still feel empty. The enemy doesn’t need to destroy you, he just needs to keep you distracted.
So, the 1st step in healing is to be aware that you need it. The 2nd step is to contrast it with the abundant Life that Jesus lived and promised us.
Now the first thing you should notice about the Divinely Directed Life is that it’s uncomplicated! Four areas that when we actually examine Jesus’s life we can see very clearly that this is how he lived. Therefore this is how we should live.
✔ ADVENTUROUS → Faith isn’t safe—it’s about stepping into the unknown with God.
✔ PURPOSEFUL → You’re not guessing anymore—you move with divine clarity.
✔ POWERFUL → You’re not just surviving—you’re transforming, influencing, and making real change.
✔ PASSIONATE → Your spiritual life isn’t dull or routine—it’s alive, full of fire, and deeply fulfilling.
I dare say if you were to ask 10 Christians how Jesus lived they wouldn’t say above 4 things. It would be more likely couched in what I call religious dogmatic blither. Which is neither practical nor understandable and it’s not relevant to how we live our lives today. Take a look at Jesus’s life and hold it up against the four descriptors.
But the key is what is in the middle of that chart. THE DIRECTOR. You’re not the Director your pastor is not the Director your favorite YouTube parachurch ministry leader is not the Director; the Bible is not to Director. He who lives in you is the Director, the Conductor, the Pilot, the one who holds everything together. Did you notice that? The Abundant Life is Divinely Directed!
You Don’t Have to Try Harder.
You Don’t Have to Try to Make Yourself Holier Than Thou.
You Just Have to Cooperate With Holy Spirit.
